Jago is Banichi's junior partner, one of two of Tabini's guards frequently assigned to Bren at the beginning of the series. When an unknown Assassin makes an attempt on Bren, Jago and Banichi begin guarding him more or less constantly. Bren objects to constant surveilance, and Banich remarks, "Jago’s witty company. She’s fascinated by your blonde hair.”
Jago’s flat black face and vivid yellow eyes held more intense expression than they were wont—not offense, he thought, but curiosity.[1]
She is also the intimate bedmate of Bren, and reveals to him on the station that her father is Banichi.[2]
